{ EXTRAINFO }
In August 1961 Lee Konitz (saxophone), Sonny Dallas (bass) and Elvin Jones (drums) gathered together at Olmsted Sound Studios in New York under the direction of producer Creed Taylor. One of the smallest groups Lee would record with, the informal yet intimate trio produced an album of unqualified artistry. Consisting of five standards, the material provides each musician with an opportunity of stretching out and shining, none more so than on the lead track I Remember You. Not for nothing is Motion considered one of the great modern jazz records, a spontaneous journey into the melodic and exploratory areas of jazz, it is also one of Lee Konitz most accessible recordings.
