일명 스페이스 디스코라는 독특한 사운드로 대중음악계에 족적을 남겼던 Meco의 1977년 데뷰앨범이자 스타워즈 영화 트리뷰트 앨범 Star Wars & Other Galactic Funk (Inspired By Star Wars)[LP]! 미국 펜실베이사주 Johnsonburg 태생의 백인 Meco (본명 Domenico Monardo)는 재즈뮤지션으로 음악생활을 시작했으나 Gloria Gaynor, Carol Douglas의 음악을 프로듀싱하면서 본격적인 음악제작자로 이름을 알렸으며 본작 [Star Wars & Other Galactic Funk]로 디스코 음악계에 센세이션을 일으킨 인물이다. 본작은 Star Wars 사운드트랙 음악을 디스코 사운드로 재해석한 음반으로 싱글 'Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band' (빌보드 싱글차트 1위 기록)를 비롯해 영화팬들에게 친숙한 스타워즈 음악들을 수록하고 있다.
